Once a month you can get married by the Bergen County Clerk’s Office in Hackensack, NJ. Couples can be married on a Saturday but you have to call for the schedule. There are appointment times, call (201) 336-7006 for more info or to schedule one. There is a nice bright room inside or a gazebo weather permitting for the ceremony. The ceremony will be performed by the Clerk John S. Hogan.
In order to get married by the Bergen County Clerk, contact the office for more information on having your wedding there. You’ll need to get a license 72 hours in advance and will need two witnesses when you get the license. You can get the license from the Health Department of the town where either spouse resides. Id neither live in NJ, then apply in the town where the ceremony will be conducted.
Overall, I’d highly recommend having a civil ceremony here if you are looking to get married in New Jersey in a courthouse.
Wedding Photo Locations near the Bergen County Clerk’s Office
After you get married at the Bergen County Clerk’s Office, you can take photos at the Bergen County Courthouse. It is a beautiful building designed in American Renaissance style architecture and completed in 1912. The steps are lovely for taking group photos. It was positively freezing the day we taking these, but J&R and their families were brave! For winter weddings, I suggest hand warmers, keeping a warm car nearby and layers if you can.
