It was the perfect summer day for a wedding at the Riverside Yacht Club in Greenwich, Connecticut. The bride and groom got ready at the J House Hotel in Greenwich which was really close by. After a close call with a dress malfunction (luckily a bridesmaid was handy at sewing!) we met-up at the club for a private first look near the water. Afterwards the whole wedding party and family met up at Cos Cos Park which has view overlooking the yacht club. It was actually the back-up location when another park was under construction but I think it made for a nice substitute with the natural grasses. It was a hot day though, but everyone held up fine with the aid of a pavilion and plain grit!
There were some great vantage points my second photographer Adena and I could take advantage of for the ceremony. The emotions and vows were beautiful and we got some beautiful images of the ceremony exit. Fresh seafood was abundant during the cocktail hour as the light softened and boats began returning to the slips. At sunset, the traditional canon was fired. The dances, speeches, and dinner was held under the tent. Everyone had a great time, and the dancing was so much fun to photograph aided by the excellent band, ETA Music.
No Riverside Yacht Club Wedding would be complete with out a sparkler exit and a moonlight boat ride. I must say, it was so dark then and on the dock, I couldn’t see anything! Thankfully my camera has infared auto focusing on the flash. I was anticipating the darkness on the water, but not the dock! Anyways, it worked out and I like to be kept on my toes. 🙂
I love photographing at yacht clubs. Here are some of my other yacht club weddings.
