New York Botanical Garden Wedding

Wedding

The New York Botanic Garden is such a fantastic place for a wedding. Located only a short drive or train ride from NYC the garden boasts two different venues for ceremonies and receptions and many fantastic locations for photos. Cherie and Rasmus selected the Stone Mill for their summer wedding and it was just beautiful. We did a first look near the azalea garden on a small bridge and then visited the conifer area for more portraits. We met the rest of the family and the wedding party in the Rose Garden for group portraits.

The ceremony took place outside on the terrace and was officiated by a friend of the groom. The reception details were just lovely including a custom mini champagne bottle for each guest. Throughout the dinner, Danish wedding traditions were upheld including guests kissing either the bride or groom when the other one leaves for the powder room. During the reception, the traditions continued and the groom’s friends cut his tie and socks off! I’m not sure of the origins of these traditions, but they were hilarious to watch and made for plenty for fun photographs!
