I rarely enter contests, but I was inspired after reading Kristen Kalp’s Go Your Own Way (which is FREE, BTW) and figured, why not? This image has always been a favorite and there is quite a back story going on too, making it even sweeter. Read all about it below!
Perrie and Adam’s wedding is the only wedding I’ve had to date (knock on wood!) to be postponed. Hurricane Irene hit the day of their original wedding date and the couple, their planners, Just About Married, and The Bowery Hotel, decided to postpone the wedding. It was moved to the ONLY Saturday I was free that fall. Whew!
I just love this moment because it captures Perrie and Adam (right behind her) and their parents FINALLY getting to cerebrate their marriage with the traditional hora dance after the difficult road to get there. This is the epitome of what I am looking for and simply love to be a part of moments like these. It makes me so happy to capture it for my clients.
I have to thank my husband Ryan for helping me with the lighting on this shot. I had him standing next to me on a bench with an off camera flash because I was 8.5 months pregnant!
