Fasnacht awaits
February 25th, 2009 klmayFour years ago I had the awesome chance to experience fasnacht (carnival) in Basel, Switzerland. It is truly a unique sensory experience with 72 straight hours of piccolo and drum music and fantastic costumes. And of course there is a lot of eating and drinking.? I’m really excited to get the chance to go back this year on assignment for Saveur! I’m also going to Germany to visit family and friends. Here’s an image from last time. (flash is not allowed, people will yell very awful things in German, and I prefer natural light anyway)
