Big Window Challenge

January 21st, 2009 klmay

I braved the freezing temps, awful wind and a variety of other obstacles to shoot a group of cool windows at Bloomingdale’s for Apartment Therapy last night.? Three designers created the unique windows for a competition and you can vote here.

Miracle Landing

January 15th, 2009 klmay

Around 3:30 this afternoon, my client Roseann and I decided to take a break from editing and make tea. While in her living room on the 20th floor of an apartment building at 52nd Street and 10th Avenue we saw a plane over the Hudson River.? She said it was crashing, but I thought it was maybe a military plane making a water landing because it was so smooth and in control. I didn’t believe her until I grabbed binoculars and saw the US Airways logo and the people exiting the plane on the wing! A massive rescue effort ensued and we started taking pictures as more and more people exited the plane and began standing on the wings. Ferries came by and began removing the passengers. I’m so happy to learn that no one has died.? It was later revealed that the plane encountered a flock of geese. I never knew such a thing could occur! Well, I saw it and it is truly a miracle everyone is ok.?? Just wish I had had a 600 mm lens with me…..
