Three Different Views

August 24th, 2008 klmay

I set out to photograph something this evening, and ended-up shooting something entirely different. The scene I wanted just wasn’t right, but the sun was setting so I got these instead. Which do you like best?

New Portfolio

August 24th, 2008 klmay

I’m very excited to have a new editorial portfolio and matching bag by Brewer-Cantelmo.? So many decisions, but in the end I’m happy with my 11 x 14 scrapbook style, 36 page book.? The only thing left is to get it seen. Call me! I’d love to send or show you my book. Click on the image to see more views.

Fossils

August 21st, 2008 klmay

This week, I had the pleasure of assisting Ira Block on a shoot at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. The assignment involved photographing some 55.8 million year old fossils for a National Geographic story. While there, I discovered some fossils of my own. In the room where we were shooting, I noticed a shelf with some interesting species.

That is Adobe Photoshop 2.5 for Windows. 2.0 was the first they made for the PC. Dating back to 1993.? I also noticed a 4.0 version as well. That one holds a special place in my heart because it was the first version I used. (I got it bootlegged via a friend at Tulane during my freshman year in college. Don’t worry, I own two licenses now:)

I love the part about the system requirements. You only needed 28 MB of available HD space!

The four installation disks are truly interesting specimens of their own. I guess they are saving them with all the other fossils for an exhibit on digital photography one day.

Website Testing

August 12th, 2008 klmay

Oh my, do I hate making websites. Really it is the part where you try to get your brand new baby online and things don’t work in Internet Explorer. I am a mac person anyway, but I realize there are still many PC users who have yet to discover the superiority of Firefox. Anyway, everyone is welcome here so I want to keep things looking sharp for all guests! In fact, this entire post is part of some other testing I’m doing.

I really wish I could finish all this and take some photos this week! grr.

Maine Memories

As I sit here sweating in my hot Brooklyn abode, I long of the cooler weather of Maine. (And my wonderful, clean and air conditioned hotel room)

Goodbye Maine

August 2nd, 2008 klmay

It has been a great week and it went by so fast. Everyone learned something for sure, even Ira! I really hope to get to return to The Workshops every summer. Here’s our class photo (I’m the one the the green sweater. Not the best hair day given the mist, but you get the idea) -
