Graduation, kinda of
May 18th, 2008 klmayI’ve worn the silly cap and gown, walked across the stage, and been handed a piece of rolled paper- but I still have 2.5 months of school left! I don’t technically graduate until the end of July. And even then, it won’t really be over until our thesis show in October. But why shun celebrating being almost there? Or better yet, get the chance to officially thank my husband for all his love and support!
The School of Visual Arts hosted a pretty cool ceremony in the beautiful Art Deco Radio City Music Hall on Friday. It was the first year the school had worn the full academic regalia, lucky us. No really, it was pretty cool considering Milton Glaser designed them and it was one of the last things Silas Rhodes, the school’s late founder, instituted. After the ceremony, many of my fellow classmates (there are 13 of us) gathered with family and friends at Carmine’s on the Upper Westside for a giant family style dinner.
Summer classes start on Tuesday, so it is back to work for us already!
