The 2007 Mermaid Parade officially kicked off summer at Coney Island today. I braved the traffic, crowds of photographers, and sun to experience one of the closest events New York City has to Mardi Gras. Check out a gallery here:

Being a pescetarian has its benefits, and salmon is one of them. (I consider myself a “South Louisiana vegetarian” too, meaning I eat seafood but not meat.) Anyway, I’ve recently been getting assignments involving food photography and I’m loving it. These Salmon skewers are from Wild Salmon, a new fish restaurant on 3rd and 40th in NYC.You can see the rest of my take here:

Last summer, while at the
Maine Photographic Workshops, I took a photo of this little dog in the back of an Austin Healey. Now he’s on the cover of
Bangor Metro magazine. This is why one should always have a camera handy, you just never know….

ZOE!!!! Despite confusing people with her yawn, not hiss, Zoe beats out Dexter 5.5- 4.5. And I never voted, but had I, she’d have gotten my vote too.
