Wainwright House Wedding

You could not have asked for a more perfect late summer wedding on the banks of the Hudson River. The couple was married at the Wainwright House in September in an outdoor ceremony adorned by a arch from Violet and Verde overlooking the river. The historic house and gardens offers many lovely settings for photos. The sunset with boats on the river was just amazing and I couldn't resist having the couple stand for a few silhouetted shots before the reception. Following dinner and speeches in the tent, dancing continued in the house. Dessert included many specialties brought from Japan by the bride. At the end of the night in a truly dramatic fashion, the couple waving flags from their respective countries, exited through sparklers to a waiting Rolls Royce. A grand end to a spectacular day!

Thayer Hotel West Point, NY Wedding: Claúdia & Rick

After their unique rehearsal dinner at an old train station at West Point, Claúdia and Rick were married in a beautiful ceremony by Susan Turchin at the Thayer Hotel. One of the most special parts of their wedding in my opinion was the attendance not only some of Claú's family and friends all the way from Brazil, but her American host family. (She was an exchange student and lived with a family just like I did when I was in Germany before moving here.) So wonderful to still be connected and also become part of another family like I have. I know it meant so much to her to have them there and I made sure to get many photos of them as well. :)

West Point Rehearsal Dinner: Claúdia & Rick

On the campus of West Point there is a old train station now used as a reception location and it is just the neatest place. Claúdia and Rick were getting married the next day at the Thayer Hotel just inside the gates at West Point and held their rehearsal dinner at the old train station the night before. The children in attendance where just fascinated by the freight trains still running past every half hour on the adjacent tracks, and I have to admit, it was fun for me to see too! There was a fresh seafood spread by Sally's Fish Market which was a real treat.
